Report z EFC 2011 od Tommyho Leitnera (Aj)

EFC was amazing - the quality of play and of the routines in the finals was the best I've seen at any European Championship so far....

In Women's Eleonora and Irena won with a very solid round edging out Judith and Nadine who also played well...

in Mixed Flo and Judith went drop-less - that really got the house rockin'
Ele and Fabio tied Ofek and Irena for 2nd.

In pairs Flo and Christain played great and got 3rd, Claudio Cigna and Marco Prati shredded as well and got 2nd and Reto and Joakim hit an amazing routine with very few errors and defended thier pairs title by the slimmest of margins...

Things got even more spectacular in the co-op finals where Flo, Christian and Carsten hit their new and improved routine in a big way - (Christian's huge crash and burn gitis off a long upsidedown pass may well have been the move of the finals - amazing!) - it was probably the best they've played as a team and the audience and players gave them a well deserved looong ovation - they could only be beat by a truly epic performance which is what we all had the privilege to witness - the routine of the event - featuring an absolutely phenomenal mix of acrobatics, double disc work, timely high diff exchanges and catches by Jaokim, Reto and Clay....there were several key moments in routine where an error could've been costly and time and again they hit the crucial catch exhilarating the crowd - when they hit there final moves the cliffhanger of a routine was over and there was much rejoicing....what a moment - what a finals!

The spirit of the game award went to Adrian Wainwright and

Jason Salkey from the UK who were competing for the first time since the Margaret Thatcher era (1980s) - Jason was an original Washington Square Jammer in the 70's and is also a professional actor who has appeared in many films - in fact he'll be appearing in the latest film by Clive Barker.

...Jason and Adrian both gave wonderful speeches showing their gratefulness and enthusiasm for being able to connect with the new generation of players....Adrian added that Conn Cummings

might even make a comeback next year (Conn lives in Sydney, Austrailia)

Ofek Agmon won an award for being the player who traveled the furthest....he and Balu provided entertainment with a face-off of moves in beer garden Saturday night...Ofek took part in the Ultimate Peace event in Israel and helped teach Palestinian and Israeli youth ultimate and freestyle frisbee - way to spread the jam and spread the peace!

Once again big props go out to the Karlsruhe team - they all worked soooooo hard and put together one of the best run events I've ever attended - a true labor of love... Grazie!!!

C U all @ Prague!
